Winchcombe dates to Neolithic times and in Anglo-Saxon times became a major centre for the Kings of Mercia. The town is situated in a beautiful Cotswold valley 9 miles from Broadway and some 8 miles from the Regency town of Cheltenham.

Winchcombe is a Cotswold town on the river Isbourne, where the local stone gives way to timbered houses and Inns, centuries old architecture and stunning countryside. Winchcombe is the home to Sudeley Castle, once the home and now the resting place of Catherine Parr, Queen of England and the sixth wife of Henry V111.

Winchcombe is surrounded by many delightful villages including Alderton, Teddington, Woolstone, Gotherington, Prescott, Middle Stanley, Stanley Pontlarge, Gretton, Greet, Guiting Power, Temple Guiting, Kineton, Hailes, Wood Stanway, Didbrook, Toddington and Bishops Cleeve.
