Broadway

About the Area

Broadway is often referred to as the “Jewel in the Cotswolds” and is at the centre of the most sought after villages Hayman-Joyce Broadway represent.

Broadway lies at the foot of the North Cotswold Hills just below Fish Hill. Within five miles lie the picturesque villages of Willersey, Laverton, Stanton, Stanway,  Childswickham, and Snowshill, located close to Broadway Tower,  and not forgetting the hamlets of Buckland and Stanway. These peaceful villages are within easy reach of Broadway and are surrounded by exceptional scenery and a delightful variety of Cotswold stone houses from Manor Houses to pretty Cottages.

Broadway is the main visitor attraction with its wide High Street featuring many independent shops. Its growth was due to sheep farming and it became the home of wealthy wool merchants, then as a staging post for mail coaches and horses travelling from Worcester to London. In the 1860’s it became an important centre for the Arts and Crafts Movement. Today, Broadway and its villages are thriving communities, with a host of clubs and sporting facilities including football, cricket, golf, bowls and horse riding. Located on the famous ‘Cotswold Way’ it is a haven for walkers and nature lovers.
